Released Space April 9th! Please Act Now, so I can get space back for you!
Why go to the Solomon Islands?
Beautiful and pristine diving in the South Pacific! Over the years, divers have asked to plan a group trip to the amazing, secluded, historic Solomon Islands! And here it is!!! Plus, this is an excellent time to go, before the rainy season. The Solomon’s boast warm, tropical sunshine! This is a SPECTACULAR destination on a wonderful live aboard, The TAKA! Watch the 3 Minutes in the Solomon Islands with the TAKA video.
The Solomon’s have reefs, caverns, and walls with large sea fans, soft corals, lots of macro, and larger marine life, too! Colorful nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefish, mandarin and masses of reef fish dance among the corals. Sharks, rays, dolphins and 6 of the 7 species of turtles are present, too. After WWII, the water in between the Florida Islands (Tulagi) and Guadalcanal was renamed to Iron Bottom Sound due to the many ships and air crafts and countless landing barges that sunk there during battle. Great wreck diving and history abounds. Water Temp averages 80 – 85. The diversity of the Solomon’s is hard to beat. Watch the Diving the Solomon’s video .
The Live Aboard?
Taka is a 100 foot mono hull live-aboard dive vessel. Built in 2004 and custom designed for diving, the vessel offers the best liveaboard accommodation in Solomon Islands. She is spacious inside and out and in addition to generously sized cabins, there is lots of shared space both inside and out for lounging and mingling. All upper deck cabins have en-suite toilets and showers. Lower deck cabins share bathrooms. All rooms are also fully air-conditioned. The large and open dive deck offers excellent storage capacity for all of your dive gear. They have specifically designed camera facilities to ensure your delicate equipment is treated gently. The majority of dives are done directly off the deck rather than off skiffs meaning they offer more dives and longer dives than any other operator.
Meals and Island Visits:
The chefs have designed a menu that showcases the local cuisines while featuring recipes from our international menu. Local, fresh and abundant are the key themes in their galley. Watch the Cuisine on the Taka video . There is time for island visiting, as well, getting to know the people and culture of this welcoming and remote area of the world. The service from the staff is excellent! We will also stay one night after the live aboard, due to the air schedule, with more touring available. There is an excellent WWII museum! Watch the Culture of the Solomons video.
