Turtle Nesting and Whale Shark Season!

Here’s a summer vacation that you will ALWAYS REMEMBER!  Snorkeling with Whale Sharks, Green Sea Turtles laying their eggs, Beautiful Diving and soooo much more!   It’s simply AMAZING to see the Whale Sharks on the surface and snorkel with them.  These “GENTLE GIANTS,” which can be as big as a school bus, are harmless, as they are plankton feeders. Not everyone can get to The Galapagos and beyond, so we are going to Mexico during Prime Whale Shark Season!  These “Gentle Giants” visit the area near Isla Mujueres May – September.  The week we are going has a full moon, the time when they are even more abundant!  It’s almost 100% guaranteed that we’ll see them.   (We enjoyed this same vacation in July, 2015 and 2018, and it was AWESOME!)  We will stay in Cozumel, and take the ferry across to Playa del Carmen for a Whale Shark Extravaganza Day, and snorkel from a boat with the Whale Sharks!  Mantas, other rays, and dolphins are also more common during this time….BONUS!  VERY exciting!!!  AND….Cozumel has an amazing turtle research and recovery program.   And you can participate in this “Turtle Experience” and watch a mother turtle lay her eggs in the wild!  Cozumel Biologist Miguel will walk us through the whole experience.  VERY COOL!    The rest of the time, we will be diving, snorkeling, sight-seeing, shopping, and relaxing in beautiful Cozumel, during the calmest time of year to dive Cozumel….summer!
